We Tested For Glyphosate. Here’s What We Found.

At Rudi’s, we’ve always paid close attention to what goes into our bread. Lately, we’ve been thinking just as hard about what stays out of it. So we sent some of our favorite loaves to the lab to find out.

We’re proud to share that seven Rudi’s products are now certified Glyphosate Residue Free by The Detox Project. Glyphosate is the most widely used weed killer in the world, and trace amounts can show up in everyday foods, especially grain-based ones. We tested for it because strong slices should come with peace of mind, too.

Here’s what the seal means: products are tested by an independent, FDA-registered lab for glyphosate and AMPA, the compound it breaks down into. To earn certification, results have to come back below the lab’s detection limit, and products keep getting retested on an ongoing basis to keep the seal. It’s not a one-and-done.
