Organic is the term used to describe products that contain ingredients that are grown and processed without the use of synthetic fertilizers, fungicides or pesticides. Organic farming also prohibits the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), pesticides, chemicals, irradiation or artificial preservatives.

Yes, Rudi’s Organic breads carry the USDA Certified Organic seal because all of our breads contain between 95% and 100% organic ingredients. Additionally, Rudi’s bakery and breads are carefully monitored and certified by Quality Assurance International, an independent organic foods certification company.

Yes, consistent with our long tradition of baking better breads on the bright side, all of the ingredients in our organic breads are non-GMO.

The only Rudi’s Bakery products with peanuts are the Peanut Butter Sandos. The Peanut Butter Sandos are made in a different manufacturing facility from all other Rudi’s products.

All of Rudi’s Organic Breads are egg-free* and dairy-free**.

Rudi’s Organic breads are made in small batches rather than mass-produced like some of our conventional competitors. Our baking processes create delicious, nutritious breads but not all the loaves look the same. Yeast can form bubbles of gas, creating an air pocket. This old dough process is what gives our products their distinct flavor.

High oleic sunflower oil is free of trans fats and high in monounsaturated fatty acids. Monounsaturated fatty acids help lower LDL or “bad” cholesterol, thus reducing the risk for heart disease.

Rudi’s Organic Bakery uses cold pressed high oleic sunflower oil because less nutrients are lost in the cold pressed extraction of the oil. Cold pressed organic high oleic sunflower oil also adds a wonderful flavor to our products.

Yes, as of September 2024, Rudi’s Bakery is one of Spokin’s Verified Brands.

Yes, Rudi’s bread and the bakery itself are certified Kosher Orthodox Union kosher certification.

Unlike its conventional counterparts, Rudi’s breads, buns and tortillas are made without any artificial ingredients or preservatives. It’s these preservatives that increase the shelf life of a product. Rudi’s products are made with the highest-quality ingredients, for optimal freshness and taste from the supermarket to your home.

Celiac is an autoimmune disease that damages the small intestines and interferes with the absorption of nutrients from food. It is triggered by consumption of the protein called gluten, which is found in wheat, rye and barley. One in 133 Americans has celiac disease, not to mention the countless others who are suffering from less severe forms of gluten intolerances and sensitivities.

We used our extensive baking experience to create gluten-free bread that tastes and feels like the real thing. Plus, Rudi’s worked extensively with gluten-free experts to make sure we’re making products that are safe and do not contain gluten. All of our breads are certified gluten-free and carry the recognizable Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO) GF Symbol.

Our gluten-free breads do not wear the organic crown, but they’re made with entirely natural ingredients and absolutely no artificial chemicals or preservatives. Just really good bread, no funny business.

We have a dedicated gluten free bread line, but not a dedicated gluten free facility. The dedicated gluten free equipment; mixers, divider, pans, ovens, slicer and more, allow us to meet growing retailer demands for our products, as well as ensure the highest level of consumer safety.

Here are the additional actions we take upon ourselves to ensure the unmatched safety of our products:

• Our organic and gluten free equipment and utensils are color-coded and segregated for easy and accurate identification.
• Incoming ingredients are tested and certified to be gluten free, per the GFCO risk assessment, and all gluten containing ingredients are physically separated in the warehouse.
• As part of our gluten free certification, every production of our gluten free bread is tested and must test below <10 ppm of gluten for distribution.
• We also send product to an outside lab quarterly to validate our test results and verify that the bread contains less than 5 ppm of gluten.

Rudi’s Gluten-Free breads are certified gluten-free and carry the recognizable Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO) GF Symbol. This certification means we have worked with gluten-free experts to make sure we’re making products that are safe and do not contain gluten.

Our Sandos are handmade using real artisan bread and organic ingredients. That means sometimes they look… human.

We recently began making our peanut-free Sandos in our Boulder, CO bakery, and we’re continuously improving. Because they’re crafted by hand, some edges may not be perfectly sealed and fruit spread may occasionally peek through.

They may not be flawless every time – but they will always be delicious. We appreciate your patience as we keep getting better.

 The bread in our Signature Sando is Rudi’s Organic Country Morning White Bread. Our gluten free Sando bread is not organic.

We do not recommend refreezing. Ice crystals may form and affect texture.

Yes, toaster oven or air fryer works. Just allow the inside to cool before eating.

Shelf life is 9 months frozen. Once thawed: best within 8–10 hours (no longer than 24 hours).

A sealed Sando is best enjoyed within 8–10 hours of thawing.
