What is The Sando?

Remember the PB&Js packed in your lunchbox? The Sando brings that same soft, sweet nostalgia – just a little more grown up. Crustless, portable, and ready when you are.

Made with Peanut Butter and Fruit Spread, it’s kept frozen for freshness and has gluten free available too. Just thaw and enjoy.

Why aren’t the edges fully sealed, or why is fruit spread seeping through?

Our Sandos are handmade using real artisan bread and organic ingredients. That means sometimes they look… human.

We recently began making our peanut-free Sandos in our Boulder, CO bakery, and we’re continuously improving. Because they’re crafted by hand, some edges may not be perfectly sealed and fruit spread may occasionally peek through.

They may not be flawless every time – but they will always be delicious. We appreciate your patience as we keep getting better.

Why isn’t The Sando labeled Organic?

Voyage Foods’ Peanut-Free Spread is not organic, so the finished Sando does not meet the 95% organic requirement for organic labeling.

However, the peanut-free spread is made with Non-GMO Project Verified ingredients and is free of the top nine food allergens. It is also vegan and gluten-free.

For our Signature and Gluten-Free Sandos, we use Justin’s Classic Peanut Butter. While Justin’s nut butters are Non-GMO Project Verified and made with high-quality ingredients, Justin’s nut butter products themselves are not USDA-certified organic- the brand notes that their nut butters are not certified organic even though many secondary ingredients may be organic.

Why isn’t The Sando labeled Organic?

61% of the ingredients are organic. Products labeled “organic” must contain at least 95% organically produced ingredients.

The peanut butter and peanut-free spread include organically sourced ingredients but are not fully organic.

Daily Power

(Because bread can do more.)

Product Overview

What is Rudi’s Daily Power Protein Bread?

Daily Power is our line of protein-packed breads made with simple, plant-based ingredients.

Each variety – Seeded Ancient Grain, Sourdough, and White- delivers 10 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber per serving, so not just delicious,  fuel that pulls its weight.

What makes Daily Power different from regular bread?

Daily Power was developed with input from a Registered Dietitian to deliver meaningful nutrition in every slice.

It combines plant-based proteins and ancient grains to provide more protein and fiber than traditional breads (10 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber per serving) while keeping the soft texture and real-bread taste you expect from Rudi’s. Soft. Chewy. Delicious. No dense, protein-y vibes here.

Why is it called Daily Power?

Because it’s designed to show up for you every single day.

With 10g of plant-based protein and 4g of fiber per serving, it has that extra oomph for perfectly fluffy bites and the confidence to power through emails and leg day.

Usage & Storage

Can I toast or bake with Daily Power?

Absolutely. It’s great toasted, grilled, or as a base for sandwiches, avocado toast, French toast, and more. It holds up beautifully while staying soft and satisfying.

What is the texture and taste like?

Like bread should be; soft, flavorful, and hearty. The protein blend adds nutrition without adding a dense or “protein” taste.

Where should I store it?

Store on the counter in a cool spot (ideally 65–80°F).

Refrigeration can slowmold growth but may dry out the bread. We recommend toasting if refrigerated. For longer storage, freeze.

INGREDIENTS: Water, wheat flour, whole wheat flour, wheat gluten, sunflower oil*, pea protein, cane sugar, beta-glucan rich barley flour, amaranth flour, teff flour, flaxseeds, millet, rice protein, yeast, sugarcane fiber, inulin, fava bean protein isolate, salt, chia seeds, poppy seeds, distilled white vinegar, psyllium husk fiber, cultured wheat flour, quinoa, toasted hemp seeds, wheat bran, enzymes.

Where does the protein come from?

Cracked Wheat Sourdough

(Small-batch bread. Big character.)

Product Overview

What is ascorbic acid (dough conditioner)?

Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is used as a dough conditioner. It strengthens the gluten network, improving elasticity, crumb structure (those tiny air pockets), and rise. It also helps create consistent texture in the finished loaf.

What is cracked wheat?

Cracked wheat is whole wheat kernels that have been broken into smaller pieces rather than ground into flour.

Because the bran, germ, and endosperm remain intact, you get the full nutritional benefits; fiber, vitamins, minerals, plus a nutty flavor and pleasantly chewy texture.

Ingredients & Nutrition

Does it contain eggs or dairy?

All Rudi’s Organic Breads are egg-free* and dairy-free**.

Does it contain hydrogenated oil?

No. We use trans-fat-free oils, organic high oleic expeller-pressed sunflower oil, cold-pressed without chemical solvents and non-GMO.

Does it contain peanuts or tree nuts?

No. Cracked Wheat Sourdough is baked in a peanut- and tree-nut-free facility.

The only Rudi’s products containing peanuts are Signature and Gluten Free peanut butter Sandos.

Is it Kosher?

Yes. Rudi’s bread and bakery are certified Kosher by the Orthodox Union (OU).

Is it non-GMO?

Yes. All ingredients in our organic breads are non-GMO.

Is it vegan?

Yes. Cracked Wheat Sourdough and all Organic breads are vegan except:

  • Honey Sweet Whole Wheat
  • Spelt Tortillas
  • Texas Toast (contains dairy)
  • Breakfast Sandwiches (contain egg, dairy, meat)
  • Gluten-Free Brioche Buns (contain egg)
Is Rudi’s Cracked Wheat Sourdough organic?

Yes. It carries the USDA Certified Organic seal, as our organic breads contain between 95–100% organic ingredients.

Our bakery and breads are certified by Quality Assurance International (QAI), an independent organic certification company.

What are the ingredients?

Water, organic wheat flour, organic whole wheat flour, organic cracked wheat, organic wheat gluten, organic dehydrated rye sourdough (fermented organic rye flour, salt), organic brown sugar, organic wheat bran, organic sunflower oil, yeast, sea salt, distilled organic white vinegar, cultured organic wheat starch, organic barley malt syrup, enzymes, ascorbic acid (dough conditioner).

Contains: Wheat.

Why are there sometimes holes in the bread?

Our Organic breads are made in small batches. As yeast and sourdough starter rise, they create gas bubbles.

Usually, those bubbles stay small and create soft texture. Occasionally one gets ambitious and creates a larger hole. It’s a sign of real fermentation, not factory uniformity.

Usage & Storage

Should I refrigerate my bread?

Please do not refrigerate. Refrigeration dries out bread faster.

If you need longer storage, freeze it.

What is the shelf life?

Once thawed, Cracked Wheat Sourdough has a 7-day sell-by code life plus an additional 3 days for home consumption.
